Iran’s Khalafi to Compete at Dubai Int’l Quran Contest for Girls

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Young Iranian Quran reciter and memorizer Hannaneh Khalafi will represent the country in the international Holy Quran contest for girls in Dubai.

Khalafi, 10, bagged the first prize in the 37th national Quran competition of Iran in the women’s section.

She has managed to memorize the entire Quran at an early age, becoming the youngest female Quran memorizer in Iran.

The first edition of the Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak International Holy Quran Contest for girls will run in Dubai, the UAE, from November 6 to 18.

According to Ibrahim Bu Melha, head of the organizing committee of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award, which holds the competition for girls, representatives of 40 countries have been invited to take part in the contest.

He said the contestants should be aged 25 or younger and that they should be memorizer of the entire Quran.

Bu Melha added that all the necessary preparations for the contest have been made and that there will be various programs on the sidelines of the competition.
