TEHRAN (IQNA) – On the 5th day of Iran’s national Quran competition Friday finalists of the Tarteel recitation category in men’s section will compete for the top prize.

According to IQNA dispatches, the semi-final round of the Tahghigh recitation and memorization categories will also be held today.

The men’s section will conclude on Saturday and women will start their contest on Sunday.

The national Quranic event began on Sunday, October 15, in Zibakenar, northern province of Gilan, with the participation of 750 Quran activists, 450 men and 300 women.

The categories of the Quranic event also include Adhan (call to prayers) and prayer recitation.

A number of top Quran masters of the country make up the competition’s panel of judges.

Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization annually holds the contest to promote Quranic activities and memorization and recitation of the Holy Book is society, especially among the youth.
