Iran, Vatican Interfaith Dialogue Wraps Up in Tehran

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Participants in the 11th round of the religious dialogue between the Iranian Center for Interfaith Dialogue and the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue of Vatican released a statement at the end of the gathering.

 

In the statement, read out at the end of the meeting on Tuesday, they underlined the importance Muslims and Christians attach to serving others, especially those in need.

They also stressed the need for serving all humanity without prejudice and treating everyone humanely.

The participants further called on all Muslims and Christians and others with good will to work for promoting human rights, saying that religions have laid the foundations of human rights.

The forum, whose theme was “Christians and Muslims: Serving Humanity Together”, was hosted by the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization in Tehran on Monday and Tuesday.

“Rights and Responsibilities”, “Family and Education of Youth”, “Serving the Society in View of Muslims and Christians” and “Serving the International Community in View of Muslims and Christians” were discussed in the papers presented at the forum.

The 12th round of the religious dialogue was decided to be held in Rome in 2020.
