Jamkaran Mosque in Pictures

QOM (IQNA) – Jamkaran Mosque, in the central Iranian province of Qom, is an important religious center for Shia Muslims.

Located some six kilometers east of Qom, the mosque draws pilgrims from all parts of Iran as well as other countries. Jamkaran was built in the year 393 AH (1003 by the Gregorian calendar) by Hassan Bin Maslah by the order of Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his advent), the Twelfth Imam of the Shia Muslims.
