TEHRAN (IQNA) – More than 90 Saudi scholars in a statement slammed the terrorist attacks on Shia mosques in the kingdom.

The statement, signed by 92 clerics, denounced the terrorist bombings and described such measures as unacceptable, al-Alam news network reported.

Two suicide bombings in the past two weeks left over 30 people dead and many more injured in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern province.

Four people were killed in a bomb attack outside al-Anoud mosque during Friday prayers in Dammam on May 29.

A week earlier, 21 Shia worshippers died in a bomb attack at a mosque in Qatif region in Eastern province.

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) terrorist group claimed responsibility for both attacks.
Riyadh is said to have been supporting terrorist groups in the region, including ISIL.
