200 Prominent Qaris Attend Quranic Programs at Razavi Holy Shrine

MASHHAD (IQNA) – Some 200 eminent Quran reciters take part in the Quranic programs held at the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) in Mashhad during the holy month of Ramadan.

The programs include 12 daily Tarteel recitation sessions, separately held for men and women who visit the holy shrine, Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Jalal Hosseini, deputy of the Islamic Relations Department at the Astan (custodianship) of the shrine said.


He said renowned Qaris including Javad Panahi, Mohsen Hajihassani Kargar, Reza Abedinzadeh, and Mehdi Hassani, Seyed Javad Hosseini, and Hamid Reza Abbassi are among the reciters partaking in the programs, IRIB news reported.


He added that the Quranic programs for women are held every day until the end of Ramadan at the Dar-ol-Quran Center of Razavi shrine.


The holy month of Ramadan, the month of fasting and prayers, began on Thursday, June 18.


During Ramadan, Muslims all over the world fast (abstain from foods and drinks) from sunrise to sunset.


They also devote a considerable amount of time during this month to reading and contemplating the Quran.
