Invitations Being Sent to Different Countries for 3rd Int’l Quran Contest for Visually-Impaired

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization has begun sending invitations to different countries for participation in the 3rd edition of the international Quran contest for the visually-impaired.

 

It is slated to be organized in Tehran in April along with several other international Quranic event, including the 35th edition of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s International Quran Competition.

Memorization and recitation of the Holy Quran are the categories of the Quranic contest for the visually-impaired.

Those willing to take part in the Quranic event are required to be a national of the country they represent.

Qaris and Quran memorizers who took part in the 2017 edition are not allowed to attend this year’s edition.

The organizers have introduced an age limit of 18 to 45 for the contenders.

The participants should be familiar with the rules of Tajweed, Sawt and Lahn and every contender can only compete in one category.  

Each contestant can be accompanied by one individual as an aide, according to the regulations.

Those who want to apply for the competition should send a photo of the first page of their passport, filled-our application form and two photographs to the secretariat of the contest by March 7, 2018.
