Mohamed Ad-Duwini, the center’s deputy said all of the 507 branches of Al-Azhar across the country have the section, shorouknews.com reported.
He added that registration for those willing to take part in Quran memorization programs of the section has started and will run for two weeks.
According to Ad-Duwini, children aged 5 to 13 can register for the Quranic programs.
He made the remark at the closing ceremony of a Quran memorization competition organized by Al-Azhar.
More than 162,000 boys and girls from across Egypt took part in the contest.
Sheikh of Al-Azhar Ahmed el-Tayeb awarded the ten top contenders at the closing ceremony.
The competition is annually organized by Al-Azhar in the holy month of Ramadan.
