Iran Invited to “Peace and Hope” Int’l Festival in Serbia

Iran was invited to attend an international cultural-art festival titled “Peace and Hope” to be held in Serbia concurrent with the 100th anniversary of the World War I.


According to IQNA’s branch in Europe, in a meetingwith Iranian cultural attaché in Belgrade, Vlado Markanovic, director of Media Invent and John Markovic, director of Utopia Publications, discussed their plan to organize the festival and invited the Iranian official to the event.



“The world defends itself by culture” will be the motto of the international festival, the first edition of which will be held in summer 2014.



The directors stressed the importance of the presence of Iran at the festival and also announced that they are ready to cooperate in the organization of Fajr Ten-Day festival to be held by Iranian Cultural Center in Serbia.



Mohammad Shaluyi, the Iranian cultural attaché, welcomed the invitation and noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always been attempting to develop peace and friendship in the world and spares no effort to reach the divine objective.



He added that friendly and peaceful thought is deep-rooted in the Iranian faith and there is a strong belief that salvation, health, growth and sublimity of human societies can be reached through stable peace.
