Egyptian Kids Learning Quran in over 1,000 Centers Affiliated to Al-Azhar

IQNA – The Al-Azhar Islamic Center in Egypt has launched more than 1,000 branches of its Quran institute to teach Quran to children.

The Quran institute, known as Rawaq Al-Azhar, was established in 2022, with support from Al-Azhar chief Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb, according to Al-Misri al-Yawm daily. 

At first it had 507 branches and now the number of branches all over Egypt has reached 1,070 after two years.

The institute plays a major role in teaching the Quran to children and teenagers in the country.

Children aged 5 to 15 can learn the Quran and memorize the Holy Book for free at the branches of the institute.

Currently, there are more than 160,000 children learning the Quran at the branches under the supervision of 4,221 teachers.

Every week, the branches of the Rawaq Al-Azhar also host more than 8,000 Quran recitation circles.
