TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Islamic Revolution Quranic convoy that began its programs in Tehran earlier this month is now in the southern city of Bandar Abbas.

Like the previous two years, a convoy of Iranian Quranic figures and activists travel to different cities of the country to hold programs on the occasion of the 42nd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution’s victory.

Today, is the anniversary of the day when Imam Khomeini (RA) returned to Iran from exile back in 1979.

On this occasion, the convoy will hold various Quranic programs, which will be broadcast on the IRIB Quran TV.

The members of the convoy will then travel to the central city of Khomein, the birthplace of the late founder of the Islamic Republic, to hold programs, including Quran recitations, and renew allegiance with the ideals of Imam Khomeini.

Every year, millions of Iranians across the country observe ten days of celebrations marking the anniversary of the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution that put an end to the monarchy of the US-backed Pahlavi regime in the country.

The day of Imam Khomeini’s return to Iran marks the beginning of the Ten Day Fajr (Ten Days of Dawn), which culminates with rallies on the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution on February 11.

The Iranian nation toppled the US-backed Pahlavi regime 42 years ago, ending the 2,500 years of monarchic rule in the country.

The Islamic Revolution spearheaded by the late Imam Khomeini established a new political system based on Islamic values and democracy.
