TEHRAN (IQNA) – The fourth examination for choosing Quran memorizers who want to join Al-Azhar Islamic center began in Egypt.

According to Akhbar al-Yawm website, Quran memorizers from all governorates of Egypt are taking the exam at Al-Azhar Grand Mosque.

It started on Monday, January 16 and will run for three days.

A committee will then choose the memorizers who will join Al-Azhar based on their score in the exam.

The committee is headed by Abdul Karim Saleh and Sheikh Hassan Abdul Nabi Araqi is its deputy head.

Hadi Awda, director of Al-Azhar Mosque, said the exam is being held with the use of the best equipment to make sure that there is fairness in assessments and all examinees will have equal opportunities.

The examination is organized annually at the order of Al-Azhar chief Sheikh Ahmed El-Tayeb.
