Al-Azhar Publishes Report on Its 2023 Quranic Activities

IQNA – Egypt’s Al-Azhar Islamic Center published a report elaborating on its Quranic activities in 2023.

According to report, the center launched more than 1,000 Quranic courses for children in different governorates of the country.

It also organized 11,823 online Quran teaching classes as well as 21,740 weekly Quran recitation and memorization programs.

The report noted that more than 164,000 instructors taught the Quran in Quranic centers for children affiliated to Al-Azhar.

The number of those teaching the Quran to adults at Al-Azhar-affiliated Quranic centers was 27,343.

Publishing Quranic books, holding Quran competitions and organizing Quranic forums and conferences were among other major Quranic activities of the center last year.

It also held education programs in the fields of Quranic sciences and Hadiths.

Al-Azhar’s report went on to point out that the center organized several forums and conferences in support of the cause of Palestine, including one featuring discussions on the status of the holy city of al-Quds in Islam.

Al-Azhar is a historical mosque and Islamic center in Cairo, Egypt’s capital.

A Fatimid Caliph commissioned its construction for the newly established capital city in 970 C.E. It was the first mosque established in the city.
